Job Description

Job Purpose

This person will be the key relationship manager for investment-related Government partners such as ministries, federal & state government department, agencies & statutory bodies, as well as government-linked investment companies (GLiCs) . The hire will work with government partners to position Malaysia as a digital investment destination, promote MDEC’s programmes and initiatives as well as generate business opportunity leads.

Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Identify and engage new strategic and impactful government partners that will be beneficial to the objectives of MDEC, in particular, the digital investment team
  2. Build and maintain a healthy, close working relationship with the government partners in the interest of synergy and best facilitation of domestic and foreign digital investments into Malaysia.
  3. To lead joint activities with partners to promote Malaysia as a digital investment destination
  4. To support the digital investment team in all engagements with identified partners
  5. To carry out client management services for partners including but not limited to managing enquiries and facilitating meetings
  6. To identify business opportunities and generate leads via market outreach programmers and provide the necessary support for the business development team to close the opportunities
  7. Able to produce error free and expected quality deliverables (documents, spreadsheet, presentation slides, etc)
  8. Able to manage changing priorities and tardiness at work
  9. Able to have clear judgment in red flagging and escalation in a timely manner
  10. Able to work with minimum supervision and also adhering to deadlines

Qualifications

  1. Tertiary Education Qualification in IT/Business/Marketing/Management or related fields.
  2. Minimum 10 years of working experience in related fields; 5 years dealing with ministries, federal/state government department, agencies & statituory bodies, as well as GLC’s. 
  3. Ability to conceptualize ideas, formulate plans, strategies and implements the ideas to fulfill the desired outcome
  4. Good Experience in event management and partner/account/client servicing
  5. High logical thinking & problem-solving skills
  6. Excellent writing, communication & presentation skills
  7. Excellent PR and communications skils
  8. Process oriented and guided by guidelines and procedures.
  9. Understanding of good domain knowledge of Digital Economy.
