Job Purpose

The job purpose is protect and ensure the resilience of MDEC IT Ecosystems cyber security risk across the enterprise by  assuring cyber security controls are implemented effectively and instilling a culture of cyber security within MDEC. 

This includes, but not limited to cyber security governance, strategy, policy, awareness, training, risk assessments, cyber stress testing, third party security risk, industry partnerships, and regulatory engagement.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • To lead and assist in the implementation of Cyber security related initiatives in MDEC.
  • Manage the resolution of security related issues and support other initiatives by the Technology Department, as and when required.
  • To lead in performing risk analysis, management, and prevention activities for MDEC’s IT systems and help set and maintain security standards.
  • Support the day-to-day activities in the Technology office, providing guidance on IT Security policies, and its processes, overseeing resources, and collaborating with other department and division leaders to develop/ support projects and programs.
  • To support and standby for any Cyber Security related matters 24x7 basis with the assistance from Security Operation Centre (SOC) during Cyber-Attack/ Emergency.
  • To plan and execute Cyber Security awareness and training program.


  • Degree in relevant area of study Computer Science, IT, Software, Cyber Security.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience.
  • Experience in  implementing Information Security Management System (ISMS) with accordance to ISO 27001:2013.
  • Certified ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Auditor is an advantage.
  • Experience ISO 9001 & ISO/IEC 20000 will be added value.

Competency Required

  • Ability to analyze problems, understand client's requirements and provide accurate advise/ consultation.
  • Proven leadership and management skills towards achieving project objectives and a team player.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and writing skills including competency in representation at customer's management level.
