Job Purpose

The incumbent is responsible to lead, guide and manage the overall provision of Learning and Development, policies, and programs; manage the implementation of its strategies and initiatives, to ensure the building of a company wide learning culture.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage Learning and Development unit to ensure it is adhered to in accordance with the company's policy and procedures
  • Directs the learning needs assessment of MDEC forward, working in tandem with the various MDEC divisions to understand their needs and customize learning interventions to strengthen their divisional teams.
  • Implementation of learning and development activities that drive the MDEC high-performance culture forward.
  • Leads assessments of the effectiveness of learning and development initiatives, in terms of employees’ accomplishments and performance.
  • Directs the assessments of learning partners; works with team to assess the effectiveness of training programs, objectives and accomplishments.
  • Developing, evaluating and tracking key performance indicators to ensure Learning and Development initiatives and activies are effectively contributing towards MDEC’s priorities.
  • Manage, collate and monitor all data, records and information pertaining to Learning and Development.
  • Implement constant process improvement for Learning and Development process in order to improve the delivery of the team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in HR, Business studies/Management/Communication or any related field. 

Competency Required

  • 10 years experience with minimum 3 years in leadership roles in HR/Training and Development.
  • Specialized training and exposure in leadership profiling, talent management practices, training and development, amongst other areas.
  • Active affiliation with appropriate networks, organizations, consultants and ongoing community involvement preferred.
  • Possess ongoing affiliations with leaders in successful companies and organizations that practice effective Human Resource Management.
  • Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong execution skills coupled with the ability to build and lead a high performing team.
  • Good commands in English – both verbal and written skills.
