Job Description

Job Purpose

• Responsible for facilitating market access and global business development activities

• Establish and be connected globally to gain access and create opportunities for qualified MYcompanies

• Facilitate research and analysis on market intelligence information through both formal andinformal sources to curate suitable market access programs

• Have business development skill set and manage the opportunity pipeline of Malaysian techcompanies


Duties & Responsibilities

1. Assist to plan and execute market access programs and initiatives to ensure achievement of objective and outcome.
2. Assist to support market access team to plan, formulate strategy, direction and recommend solutions to ensure successful execution of division priorities. This includes analysing business scenarios, providing recommendations, developing high quality presentations, program execution according to schedule, obtaining necessary approvals and procurement of services.
3. Assist to identify and engage regional/global ecosystem partners (e.g. channel partners, ecosystem builders, investors, business communities, etc) to assist expansion of Malaysian companies globally.
4. Closely monitor and track market access programs outcomes, elaborate qualitative and quantitative export reporting to support market access for decision making.
5. Provide administrative support, ensure accuracy and confidentiality of information and compliance with internal protocols.
6. Obtain a clear understanding of all units under the DEX division as well as divisions across MDEC and proactively provide support in order to achieve MDEC’s corporate goals.
7. Assist to plan, manage and coordinate business trips, visits, meetings, including communication between relevant parties – documentation of information and profiling of companies, etc.
8. Assist on MDEC grant promotion and also getting Malaysia Tech companies to apply

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in any field; preferably Business, economics, IT, engineering, marketing, management, or related fields

• Minimum 2 years of business development, sales, or startup investor experience within the technology industry.


Competency Required

  • Highly motivated with strong business acumen, possesses an entrepreneurial mindset, and is a go-getter.
  • A team player enjoys cross-functional roles, challenges the status quo, is adaptable, hardworking, and professional.
  • Sales or business development experience is an advantage.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must, as well as relationship building skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations is key. 
  • Attention to detail in the preparation of documents is necessary to achieve thoroughness and accuracy in completing tasks.
